BURN INSTRUCTIONS

Keep the candle wick trimmed to 1/4" before lighting and keep all foreign materials (such as matches or wick trimmings) away from a burning candle.  Only burn candles on open, level, non-flammable surfaces and keep away from drafts, vibrations, or any other potential hazards (such as window treatments, linens, children and pets, etc).  NEVER leave a burning candle unsupervised!

Grumpy Dog Candle Company uses 100% soy wax (harvested from American soybean farmers) in our candles, with natural fiber, low-smoke wicks. We believe that soy wax is a superior, cleaner burning, longer lasting candle wax compared to the most commonly used candle wax alternative, paraffin.  Paraffin is an inexpensive byproduct of petroleum production and contains carcinogenic chemicals. Soy wax is vegetable based, biodegradable, and is a renewable resource. Please note, however, that we do NOT make any specific health guarantees reference using our products.

Soy wax burns at a lower temperature than other types of wax, and can develop a "burn memory", resulting in a crater surrounding the wick.  This causes incomplete burning of the candle over time.  To avoid this, be sure to burn your candle long enough (approximately 4-6 hours) during each use to allow the top layer of wax to liquefy from the wick to the edge of the container.  By following these instructions, your candle will last longer and have optimum burn results without wasted wax.
